Aberlour Distillery is located in the region Highland in Scotland.
As I wrote about batch #59 A’Bunadh is their series of sherry matured whiskies bottled at cask strength and with no age statement. I have tasted quite a few of their batches, and today it is time to dive into batch #60. It is too bad the bottle is almost empty! The whisky is bottled at 60,3 ABV.
Woody and fruity on the nose. I get the smell of a dusty, old library mixed with the sweetness from dried mango and papaya. Maybe some dark syrup as well. Or burnt caramel. Mmm…warm and fruity on the palate. So smooth and nice compared to bacth #59. The soft taste of ripe mango and papaya. Some spices; white pepper and cardamom. The finish is a bit dry even though it is sweet. I get the taste of Earl Grey, white pepper and peach.
My score: nose 22 / taste 23 / finish 22 / balance 22 = 89
