Ardmore Distillery is located in the region Highland in Scotland. Ardmore is peated whisky.
I have tasted an Ardmore bottled by the independent bottler Duncan Taylor: Ardmore 2010 The Octave “Daracha’s utvalgte nr. 5”. It was distilled in 2010, then aged 8 years in oak casks (the cask size is not mentioned) before given 9 months finish in an octave cask #1919799, and then bottled in 2019 at 52,1 ABV. I have tasted bottle 25/76.
The whisky is available in Norway at NOK 965.
Elegant smoke. Delicate. Candy powder! Fresh and sweet. Peaty fruitiness. A hint of something metallic. Maybe pears in a tin can. Smooth and gentle on the palate. Fruity, peaty and warm. Melon, mango and ripe red apples. Ginger and nutmeg. The finish is soft and fruity and spicy. Still red apples. Dry with a fatty layer of nuts.
My score: nose 22 / taste 23 / finish 22 / balance 22 = 89
