Bergen International Whisky & Beer Festival 2016

Balblair 1997 single cask bottled for The Tasting Room

I had a great time in Bergen last weekend at the second edition of Bergen International Whisky & Beer Festival! The festival was held at Scandic Bergen City – the same place as last year.

Well, this is the only fair in Norway with both beer and whisky. I guess the beer is the reason we saw more women at the fair – which we love to see of course! Actually a lot of them also tasted whisky! I was so happy to be working at the fair and having the opportunity to serve some lovely whiskies to some lovely ladies – and men!

Even though it is great to see more women at festivals, I am not sure what to think about the concept of mixing beer and whisky at the fairs. I kind of like the idea of trying to get beer people interested in whisky. Did it work? I do not know, but it seems the beer get most attention.

Anyway I did have a great time with all the funny and great people! Frode Harring has arranged yet another great festival! I am already looking forward to going back next year.

Just to let you know before I finish my writing: Frode has picked a Balblair 1997 single cask #No1150  to be bottled for The Tasting Room and it is available in Norway at NOK 1499,90.
