Fettercairn 2007 15 YO Hart Brothers

Fettercairn Distillery is located in the region Highland in Scotland. It is one of the oldest distilleries in Scotland, founded in 1824.

Today I am tasting a whisky from the independent bottler Hart Brothers, made available in Norway at NOK 1 808,50 by the new Norwegian importer Cadus.

The whisky is distilled in September 2007 and then matured for 15 years in an American oak cask until bottled in September 2022 at 55,9 ABV.

Butter and cream on the nose. It is warm and rich – a delicious nose! It is actually very rich! I get vanilla, milk chocolate, the Norwegian chocolate ‘Smil‘ and the Norwegian cake ‘Fyrstekake‘ (created in my hometown Trondheim in 1856!), and finally red baked apples. Warm and rich on the palate. Spices and vanilla. Complex. White pepper, nutmeg and some chili. Oaky. A perfect mix of the dryness from peanut shells and some sweetness on the finish. It is lingering.

My score: nose 24 / taste 22 / finish 22 / balance 22 = 90

Thanks, Eric!
