Glen Moray Distillery is located in the region Speyside in Scotland. Here are a few words about the distillery:
The locally malted barley and pure waters of the River Lossie combine to produce this delicate well-balanced whisky.
At the Glen Moray distillery, you can discover the reality of malt whisky distilling. The delight of Glen Moray is that your tour guide could be one of the distillery craftsmen themselves.
The great advantage of this is the authenticity of the introduction – each guide knows the process of whisky making like the back of their hand. So, at Glen Moray, you will gain an unforgettable insight into how water and barley are transformed into ‘the water of life’.
Glen Moray 1998 PX Finish was distilled in 1998 and bottled in 2018. First matured in bourbon casks, as all whiskies from Glen Moray, before given a finish in Pedro Ximenez sherry cask #999/3. It was bottled at 45,5 ABV into 640 bottles.
Rich fruitiness on the nose. Dusty. I get peaches and honey melon. Baked apples with sugar and cinnamon. Mmm…rich and fruity on the palate as well. So smooth. Red apples, papaya and a hint of pineapple. The finish is sweet and fruity. Honey melon, papaya and pineapple.
My score: nose 23 / taste 23 / finish 23 / balance 23 = 92
Thanks, Iain!
