Glen Moray 21 YO Portwood Finish

Glen Moray Distillery is located in the region Speyside in Scotland. An interesting fact about the distillery:

Since the first drops of spirit ran from the copper pot stills at Glen Moray on the 13th September 1897, just five men have had the honor of holding the title “Master Distiller.”

Todays Master Distiller is Graham Coull.

Glen Moray 21 YO Portwood Finish is bottled at 46,3 ABV. Glen Moray uses bourbon casks for their whiskies. This one has been given a finish in a Port cask.

Rich fudge and red berries on the nose. Red currants and raspberries. Quite fresh with a lot of herbs like mint and eucalyptus. A bit woody. Smooth on the palate with red berries. I get red currants and raspberries here as well. The finish is soft and sweet. Sugar syrup, fudge, vanilla and raspberry candy.

My score: nose 21 / taste 23 / finish 23 / balance 23 = 90

Thanks, Iain!
