Glen Scotia Distillery is located in the region Campbeltown in Scotland.
Glen Scotia 15 YO is bottled at 46 ABV. They say it has been matured in American oak barrels without any more specifications. I guess it is (mostly) bourbon casks from the vanilla notes.
Light and oaky on the nose. The sweetness from vanilla. The freshness from lemon peel, eucalyptus and some glue(!). Light and at the same time a bit rough on the palate. Green notes, a bit grassy. I get lemon peel, lemon balm and asparagus. Sweet on the finish. Candy sugar and lemon juice with sugar – and some green notes.
My score: nose 20 / taste 20 / finish 20 / balance 20 = 80
