I attended a tasting with David Francis at Dr. Jekylls this autumn. He brought an impressive line-up that evening starting with four Glenmorangies:
- Glenmorangie The Original 10 YO
- Glenmorangie 18 YO
- Glenmorangie Signet
- Glenmorangie 25 YO
I will reveal the other whiskies that evening later – just to keep you a bit curious.
This evening was actually my first time tasting Glenmorangie The Original 10 YO. To me this was a light and fruity whisky, both on the nose and on the palate. A bit spicy, nutty and salty. Some oak gave it a dry finish. A nice whisky. Not complex, but rather easy drinking – clean and soft.
My score: nose 20 / taste 20 / finish 20 / balance 20 = 80
