I shared my tasting notes on the Kilkerran WIP 7 Sherry Wood a couple of months ago. I do have the Bourbon Wood Cask Strength as well. Two quite different whiskies. It was interesting to compare them, but they were both better tasted alone.
Kilkerran Single Malt is made by Glengyle distillery in Campbeltown, Scotland. They released this whisky in 2015. Only 6000 bottles was made available worldwide. It is available in Norway at NOK 750.
Vanilla mixed with malt on the nose. Lemon, eucalyptus – fresh. Vanilla and spices on the palate. Rich! Smooth. Warm finish, a bit dry. Cardamom and cinnamon. Nutty.
My score: nose 21 / taste 22 / finish 22 / balance 21 = 86
