I tasted the 15 YO Limited Edition for the 200th anniversary of Laphroaig distillery the same evening I tasted the 10 YO cask strength batch #007.
The 15 YO is bottled at 43 ABV. It is not available in Norway.
Light, fresh, vanilla and gentle smoke on the nose. Citrus, grapes and oak. Warm sand. Light and delicate on the palate. Pineapples, citrus and grapes. Light smoke. Quite dry in the end with a nutty touch which makes it oily. The peat is not dominating here. A hint of metallic taste in the end.
My score: nose 21 / taste 22 / finish 22 / balance 22 =Â 87
This one was quite different from the 10 YO cask strength batch #007.
