I think we need a little break from all the cheap whiskies. It is time to taste a good whisky!
The Glenlivet has released a single cask whisky named Coupar Angus. It is 15 YO bottled 2 December 2015. The sherry butt #9940 gave 564 bottles at cask strength 57,9 ABV. This whisky is bottled for Scandinavia.
It is available in Norway at NOK 1990.
Soft lemon caramel on the nose, like Fox. Ginger and lime zest. Rich with a waxy feeling, like wax on green apples. Rich on the palate! Apples, pears, honey melon and green grapes on the palate. Very fruity, but not too sweet. The finish is more spicy with white pepper, salt and ginger. Oak and nut shells. Warm and lingering. Really nice!
My score: nose 23 / taste 23 / finish 21 / balance 22 = 89
