Ardmore Distillery is located in the Highlands in Scotland and makes peated whisky.
I tasted todays whisky at a meeting for The Ladies’ Share earlier this year. It was distilled in 2000, matured in a refill hogshead and bottled in 2014 which makes it 14 YO. The outturn was 256 bottles at 50,9 ABV. This Ardmore is part of the bottling serie Liquid Library from the German independent bottler The Whisky Agency.
Cool and light on the nose. Metallic. Lightly peated. It smells of wet wool, and wet cardboard. Peaty on the palate. Metallic. Licorice. Not much happening on the finish. I get salt and chili.
My score: nose 19 / taste 20 / finish 20 / balance 20 = 79
