Agitator Single Malt Whisky

Agitator Distillery is located in Arboga in Sweden, close to Örebro, where I recently spent time at the Örebro beer and whisky festival! It was lovely to meet the guys from Agitator Distillery again.

I have previously tasted a couple of cask samples (read about it here) from Agitator, and today I am tasting Agitator Single Malt Whisky, the first whisky released from Agitator Distillery. This whisky is matured different types of casks: bourbon, virgin American oak, sherry and chestnut. It is bottled at 43 ABV. It is available in Norway at NOK 654.

Light citrus and oak on the nose. I get some nail polish remover at first. Then ginger and white pepper and some fruitiness. Light and spicy on the palate. Lots of spices – ginger, cardamom, black pepper. Again som fruitiness. It is a bit fizzy. The finish is dry and spicy. I get some pepper in addition to oak.

My score: nose 19 / taste 21 / finish 19 / balance 20 = 79

Thanks, Oskar and Christian!
